Delete your Taaly account

This page explains how you delete your account in the Taaly app, published by Taaly B.V. (Padangstraat 25H, 1094 AN Amsterdam, the Netherlands), and what happens to your data. It applies to learners and volunteer taalcoaches.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Taaly and tap your profile icon at the top to open Settings & Preferences.
2. Open Account Information.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted right away. You can download your account details first from the same screen.

Delete your account by email

No longer have the app, or cannot log in? Send an email to info@taaly.nl with the subject "Delete my Taaly account" from the email address linked to your account, and mention the username you use in Taaly. We first check that the request comes from the account holder, then delete the account. We handle requests within one month, as described in our privacy statement.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we erase your profile, login details, phone number, email address, chat messages, call history, posts, reflections, bookings, Karma balance and, if you used Jobs, your conversation with the Taaly recruiter and any CV you added. Only anonymous statistics remain, which cannot be traced back to you.

What is kept, and for how long

• Participation hours registered for your municipality. If your municipality or COA sponsors your account as part of your integration programme, the hours you registered via Taaly stay with the municipality for three years after deletion, because the municipality needs them for your integration file. Taaly processes these hours on behalf of the municipality; for questions about them, contact your klantmanager.
• Records we must keep by law. Payment and payout records of paid taalcoaches from before October 2026 fall under the statutory tax retention period, as described in the privacy statement under "Retention period".

Everything else is deleted immediately. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account; use one of the two methods above. An account that stays inactive for one year is deleted automatically.
