For municipalities

Real-time insight into participation hours. No admin afterwards.

Since the Civic Integration Act 2021, municipalities must register and account for every participant’s participation hours. Taaly does it automatically, inside the statutory process, not as a loose app.

  • The newcomer checks in with a QR code

At every activity of a chain organisation, from a language class to volunteering or a workshop, the participant scans that organisation’s QR code.

  • Hours are registered automatically

Per participant, per route (Z-route or B1-route) and per organisation. No loose spreadsheets, no hours to piece together afterwards.

  • The municipality sees it in real time

The dashboard shows filled hours per chain organisation, participant and period, so you steer while the programme runs, not when it is over.

Jalal
“Taaly improved my Dutch. I find it much easier to connect with people at work now. A safe place to make mistakes, while the conversation stays in Dutch.”

Frequently asked questions

No, as a coach, you don’t have to pay.

At Taaly, you earn Karma Coins when you help someone learn a language. You can exchange those Karma Coins for gift cards, like discount codes from your favourite brands.

Or, if you’re feeling generous, donate your Karma to your favourite learner.

Nope! You don’t need a teaching degree or fancy certificates. If you speak a language and genuinely want to help others learn, you can coach on Taaly. The focus is on real conversations and growing together, not perfect grammar.

Absolutely. Taaly is designed to be flexible. You decide when you're available and how often you want to coach. It's all about fitting language learning into real life, on your terms.

No. Taaly is free for newcomers: practising with the AI coach, video calls with volunteer taalcoaches, the live lessons and the activities cost nothing. Many newcomers get access through their municipality or COA, and you can also simply download the app and start.

We support over 50 languages, and our community is expanding daily. In some languages, we're still growing our network of human coaches. Meanwhile, you can practice with our AI coaches, they're always ready for a chat! If you're passionate about a language we're still building, invite your friends to join. Together, we're creating something special.

Activities are real things happening near you: language cafés, walks, sports, volunteering and community events, run by local organisations. You already practise with real people on Taaly, by call and in live rooms. Activities is the step after that, where you use your new language face to face in your own neighbourhood. You will find them in your Feed, on the "Activities nearby" shelf and in the Activities tab.

It opens the organisation's own page, where you can read more and sign up with them directly. Taaly does not handle sign-ups, so tapping "I'm interested" does not put your name on any list and does not book you a place. Nothing is arranged until you do it with the organisation.

No. Taaly asks for your location one time, only to work out which municipality you are in. We save only the municipality, like "Almere". We never save your exact location. You can also skip that step and pick your municipality from a list, and you can change it any time from your profile.
