Why we built Taaly Jobs

Taaly began as a language app: an AI language coach and thousands of volunteer taalcoaches helping newcomers practise Dutch. Then came participation: activities in your own municipality and hour registration for municipalities. With Taaly Jobs, the third part of the journey is live: work.

Language alone is not the finish line

For most newcomers, the goal behind the language is a life here: a home, a network, and a job. Yet the step from a language course to a first Dutch job is one of the hardest in the whole integration journey. Vacancy sites assume fluent Dutch, application letters follow conventions nobody explains, and many newcomers have no idea which employers would actually welcome them.

That gap is exactly where an integration platform should help. We already talk with newcomers every day while they practise Dutch. We know their level, their municipality and what they are working towards. Showing them real vacancies, in the same app, is the natural next step.

What Jobs is

Jobs shows real vacancies from employers who are open to newcomers, from all over the Netherlands, the closest first. You can filter by sector and place or search for a job title. Applying happens in the app: the Taaly recruiter asks a few questions in simple language, and a person at Taaly reads every application and works on it with the applicant.

Simple language, real people

Two choices shaped the whole feature. First, simple language: the recruiter asks its questions the way a patient person would, not the way a form does. Second, a person stays in the loop: no application is sent to an employer without the applicant knowing, and a member of the Taaly team helps with the next steps.

We cannot promise that any one employer says yes. We can promise that looking for work no longer starts with a website you cannot read.
